Worcester 28 SI 2 combi nightmare

I have been working on a 28 SI 2 today.When I arrived, The customer (Gren) pointed out its 4 year track record as follows,

  • Replaced heat exchanger (out of warranty)

  • Replaced ignition electrodes (out of warranty)

  • Replaced ignition leads (out of warranty)

  • Replaced expansion relief valve (out of warranty)

What a terrible boiler Gren said, yes I agreed as I arrived at the conclusion that he would also need a new pcb at £100 +

This boiler was recommended to the customer by his installer (now retired) , not his fault as he went on reputation. Times have changed because reputation wont repair broken boilers for free when the warranty has expired.

After speaking with Worcester it appears that this boiler has had an upgrade on the pcb and hopefully Worcester have got it right now.
